BMBS has exclusive use of
Carnaby Lake, its own 90 x 80 metre club water which is available
for sailing all year round. We have a membership of over 150 who
participate in most model boating activities, these range through
scale electric, steam, yachting, fast electric and IC power which
includes a multiracing section. The Society is affiliated to the Model
Powerboat Association which enables members to compete at
other clubs regattas in addition to our own club and open events.
Carnaby Lake is well equipped with facilities, these
include on site parking adjacent to the lake, a clubhouse with
mains water and cooking facilities, flush toilets, a central
concrete landing stage for powerboaters, with a permanent M
course, and a second smaller concrete landing area with a harbour
and permanent scale course for electric boaters. All the above
facilities are accessible by disabled persons. A fibreglass row
boat is also available to enable the rescue of wayward models.
Club nights are held every 1st Wednesday of the month at Broadacres,
Kingsgate, Bridlington. As well as normal club business,
club nights include auctions, talks, demonstrations, slide shows
and quizzes.
